Trail Rides
During this retreat, we'll dive into the extensive network of trails the forest has to offer! These paths aren't just visually stunning; they'll also provide you with hands-on learning experiences in trail etiquette, communication skills, and other essential dynamics. You'll enjoy two guided trail rides through the breathtaking Ouachita National Forest and have the opportunity to document campsites and routes using your preferred GPS app along the way.
Professional Media
Taking photos of your rig while out on the trail is hard, exhausting, and takes away from the experience. Capturing video on top of that is even more difficult! Then adding the cost of the equipment just to capture a decent photo can tip the scales. While on our adventure, we'll have a dedicated person to capture you, your rig, and the friends you'll make. Hiring someone to do this for a few days can cost as much as $5,000, but on this retreat it's included!
Camp Cocktails
If you've caught our Adventure series on YouTube, you probably know Erik and his talent for mixing up fantastic cocktails during our trips. Don't miss out on these camp cocktails paired with the awesome conversations that follow. Shoutout to Erik and The Elwood for coming back out to join us on this retreat!
Mapping 101 Course
Led by Brandon Darwin, an experienced explorer who has undertaken extensive trips in Mexico, Canada, and various regions of America, this course covers essential skills for planning extended adventures. We will integrate traditional techniques with modern tools like Gaia GPS, onX Offroad, Google Maps, and other resources. FAQ
Who is the Retreat for?
Calvary guided trips are for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’ve traveled around the world or haven’t been on your first trip.
Do I need a 4x4 & high clearance vehicle?
For this Retreat, it is NOT mandatory that all vehicles possess 4-wheel drive capability and meet a high clearance requirement. The trails will be scenic and difficulty will be discussed prior to leaving basecamp.
This is my first time out, is that okay?
Yes! The trail guides are here to help. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to the trail lead!

What apps do I need?
You don’t need any apps or technology, but we recommend Gaia GPS. This is how all of our trail leaders mark and discover routes. After the trip, we will share campsite & points of interest map data. Utilization of Gaia GPS will also be taught in the Mapping 101 course.
Is this really worth $499?
We think so. Industry standard for 3-4 day trips averages $1,000 - $1,600 per vehicle. You’ll be hard pressed to find an outing that provides campsite workshops, high quality photo & video services, cocktails, and well executed travel. Not to mention, all the weekends you would have to spend finding the places we will take you in just a single weekend!
